Finding your fit in Vintage - Sizing & Measurement Guide

Every vintage piece carries its own history — including the way it fits. Because sizing once varied widely across decades and makers, we measure every garment by hand to give you its true dimensions. When you see a size listed (for example, 28"), that number reflects the exact measurement of the piece.

Our goal is to help you choose pieces that feel considered, comfortable, and uniquely yours.

How to Measure Denim & Pants

To find your best fit, we recommend comparing the garment’s measurements to a pair of jeans or pants you already love.

  1. Lay your garment flat and smooth.
  2. Measure across the waistband, rise, hip, thigh, and inseam.
  3. Match those numbers to the “Lay-Flat Measurements” on each product page.
  4. For a relaxed or boyfriend-style fit, consider adding 1.5–2" at the waist.

A 28" waist means the waistband measures 28" exactly when laid flat and doubled.

Understanding Vintage Denim

Vintage denim is typically 100% cotton with no stretch. It behaves differently from modern jeans — it doesn’t mold to the body in the same way, and cuts were often made for straighter silhouettes. Because of this:

  • Hip and seat measurements are just as important as the waist.
  • Most shrinkage has already occurred; we measure pieces after laundering.
  • If you’re between sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger pair for a comfortable fit.

Upcycled & Reimagined Pieces

Our one-of-one garments — made from vintage fabrics and textiles — are carefully crafted with drape and movement in mind. The fit of each piece is noted individually on the product page, along with exact measurements. If you’re unsure how a specific piece might sit on your frame, we’re happy to help.
